We have a Guest

my mom is here visiting.
It's fabulous to have her
company.

however, she broke her foot
within 24 hours of arriving.
No cast, but must of course
stay Off the foot.

So i'm trying to keep her ... amused.
painted her fingernails yesterday.
Hmm. what about today ?

they have just turned out to be
Huge Magnets for fruit flies.

My mom is
arriving this week for a visit.
The knitting companion and
i are very pleased.
When he sees her he does a little
dance, then looks for her bag to
see what's inside.

we have
some things to get ready now.

made these (they're not both mine of course)
with great skill.

Worthwhile cookbook

Earlier this year, the
at-home chef
bought this hefty cookbook.

I'm pleased to report that
this was a worthy buy.
He's made several dishes
from this (huge, heavy) book
and i like them all.

thursday, really? ?

how did it get to be thursday already?
i've been messed
up with what day it is,
for two weeks i think.

Trivia for a thursday:

The boy next door is
called Louis.
I think he's at great
risk for his name wearing out
before his eighth birthday.
It gets used an awful lot.

another book
by Camilla Gibb.

It was a fast read
and i really enjoyed it.

Cotton knitting updates?
the colourful bunch
of Rowan Hand-knit cotton
skeins
are being used for practical-home-things.

the "Calmer" Cotton. . . still not sure.
Maybe a hat or two.
