Happy Friday

And i'm in the throes of packing.
and lots of Chicken-without-head-running around action.

tomorrow i am leaving for New Brunswick, with my knitting in tow.
Friday September 30 will mark the opening
of my solo show at the Gallery of Bejewel. if you're
in the vicinity, i'd love for you to come by & say hello.

More from Wednesday Evening

Yesterday i tried many times to get these photos (and more) into the blog.
the blog was having none of it.

So, here's the flash back to wednesday night's gathering of
a smattering of the Montreal Knits Group.

This is Mary
working on a scrumptiously soft scarf.
words alone cannot describe the yumminess of that scarf.

That's Anna, working on her first pair of really fabby socks.

here are some of the yarns that were in progress at our knitting get together
on Wednesday evening, plus one very happy blue sock.

Just what makes a girl happy ?

happy mona, knitting another gorgeous lacey sock.

montreal knitting in Action.

here we are. Montreal knits, in action.
Photos taken last night at our knit/chat event at the second cup.
no, this is not a product placement deal, we really do meet there.
tables are small so cups are everywhere. As is the yarn.

here we have Deawn knitting up a luscious green event ....

and Mona is deep into lace sock knitting with a silk blend yarn....

more photos from our knitting time last night...
to follow, since the blog isn't in the mood any more to accept photos.
check back here later today/tonight.

knitting updates ...

there is no noticeable knitting news.
The cute stripey sock is still in progress, at the heel stage now.
the only question is: will it become a pair of socks to Give as A Birthday Gift ?
or will i keep the very cute socks ....

The isis wrap is still in the works as well. The best thing about that is the knitting and touching of this fabulous cuddly soft yarn.

Today is the last day of Summer.
it's sunny.
it's hot.
it's beautiful.

hungry visitors

On the weekend, there were visitors from Alberta.
Wanting them to enjoy their Montreal experience,
we went to Le Duc de lorraine for pastries and coffee.

and
that one is mine:

Later we went to the Lookout by the Illuminated cross,

and then walked to the chalet for another view of the city.

visitors from Alberta Fly off the mountain ....

here are my visiting friends, Flying Off the Mountain, from the Lookout bench.
Although it does not appear that they are about to fly away into the wild blue yonder,
they did just that.

and more.

birthdays & knitting news

happy Birthday to Cathy
- actually her special day was yesterday.
September birthday wishes to greg
and my brother Richard.
Today we shall celebrate with knitting
related photos.

To start, here is some of the "isis" yarn, knit up.
i'm making a small wrap (or scarf or whatever other title you wish to deem fit)

Tuesday's sock updates...

There will certainly be socks-for-knitting accompanying me at the end of the
week as i drive to New Brunswick.

the second pink, orange & brown sock has been started:

you may recall that i had already started my last (!!)
ball of sock yarn. (evidence is seen above)

i have now a pair of sock yarn skeins at hand, for the next sock event. However, i hope that there will be more sock yarn in the not distant future.

Here it is, Regia, self striping wool .

and, another look at the wool & mohair blend of
"mountain colours" (whoops, mountain color " Bearfoot.

what kind of frappuccino are you ?

Mocha Caramel
You are Mocha Caramel

Being artistic as you are, many people admire your
work, even if they don't understand it. It's
hard to always have creativity running through
your brain, but it's far worth it. Think of all
the things you can accomplish!

Bravo !

yesterday i went to a wonderful vernissage of Josée Valiquette.
Her work is magical and beyond compare. i've never had such a
moving experience to see such strong works of art.

Here, you can see La Vedette
at her VERY well attended vernissage:

and, in among the crowd, you can see some of Josée's work ...

next week ....

on the 24th, i'll be leaving for Fredericton, New Brunswick.
my solo show will be held
in this
gorgeous gallery called "Bejewel".
