photos from the shore

ok, i'm dying to show you the photos from the Show opening (vernissage !)
from last friday. (september 30) but i don't have them yet.
(yes it's driving me crazy.)
also, no photo YET of St-Louis de Ha! Ha! (i kidd you not).
soon. Really. i'm going crazy waiting.
in the meantime, here are some views taken on the
southern shore of the Fleuve St-Laurent.
(St-lawrence River).
These photos were taken from Notre Dame du Portage on September 24th.
and, yes, that is the first cuff of the first sock just getting started.
what a gorgeous spot.
Sock update
the second sock is coming along. top photo shows
the sock "leg", second photo shows the heel detail. both photos shot with
natural light.
this is the Mountain Color (yes, color not "colour" ) Bearfoot yarn. wonderful to work with. Hand dyed yarn. Thick wool for socks, stitches go along wonderfully quick.
Caution: this wool may be addictive.
Be warned; be tempted.
this is a skein of "yellowstone", you can see it's a tad different than the colour sample shown. All the same; i love it.

EEEEEEeeeeeeek !
shocking news:
my palm pilot seems to have cleared its memory.
no one else has touched it; yet somehow it's had
a lobotomy.
this is very bad news.
i keep tons of addresses in there. Tons. and phone numbers
and .....
now it's not there.
i need to take a deep breath.
make some green tea ...
and deal with this later.

in Knitting News:
while i was in lovely Fredericton,
i did not get very much knitting accomplished,
since i went there to work.
However ! i did finish the First Sock of the newest "mountain colour bearfoot"; and i am thrilled. Over the moon, so to say.
the second sock has been started (just last night). These are going to be so fun to wear.
and in completed sock/knitted news:
(this little part is for anyone who
loves hand knit socks so much that socks are actually exciting.
For anyone else, you can skip this bit).
i took all of my hand knit socks with me to Fredericton, so that i could wear the scrumptious hand knits every day.
i finished the isis scarf (wrap? ) late at night before my departure from
Montréal, so i did get to wear it in Fredericton. Wore it to my first day of teaching at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design. i was thrilled.
you may remember this cuddly creation from its photo on September 20.
Back home from Fredericton, New Brunswick
the title says it all.
i was actually thinking that i would be home MUCH later today, but here it is 8am,
and i am Home !
the trip was magnificent & i have Many photos to share with you. (later today!)
i am sorry to be missing the trip to Vermont this weekend with members of Montreal
knits, as noted in Deawn's Blog.
The city of Fredericton was terrific.
Many people have the preconceived notion that it is a
city full of government workers and therefore a non Arty City.
This could not be Further From The Truth.
Fredericton is full of artisans, craftspeople and artists of all kinds.
The city is built on the shore of the St. John River and has so much to offer.
and: the whole city is wireless.
you can have free internet connection anywhere in the city.
Outside, in a café, in your hotel room ! Really: anywhere.
On my drive there from Montréal, i had the wonderful opportunity to drive
through St-Louis de Ha! Ha! here in La Belle Province of Québec.
Photos to follow shortly.
Kamouraska, Québec
Yesterday, i stopped here to pick up a delicious lunch
to take on the road.
Welcome to Kamouraska, Québec.
the scenery was fabulous and so very inspiring.
Is this a great house ? !
and it is built on the south shore of the St-Laurence River. there is a magnificent view.
The air feels amazingly fresh and clean.
