First Friday of December !

it's been snowing here in Montreal all morning.
(click to see the web cam in Old Montreal)
but the snow hasn't been sticking to the ground.

Knitting news: my FUZZY green socks are complete
and i'm wearing them right now for their maiden voyage.
Aaaaaahhhhhh. so soft.
they feel delicious for the feet.

and for this December Friday, i leave
you with this thought:

"By three methods we may learn wisdom:
First, by reflection, which is noblest;
second, by imitation,
which is easiest;
and third, by experience, which is the bitterest."
(Confucius)

Welcome to December

"Your work is to discover your work--and then with all your
heart to give yourself to it." (Buddha)

i thought we'd start the month with something profound.

as fast as you'd possibly wish for!

Yesterday,
i telephoned Julie at the Needle Emporium.
I ordered some wool, for socks. (no one is shocked & i don't care).
TODAY ! ! my package arrived.

isn't this the greatest thing since sliced bread?
(and where DID that expression come from ? )
actually, this is far better than sliced bread, let's be honest.

i couldn't wait & i've rolled my new skein into a ball.

i've just cast on a sock cuff. Rejoice with me and the scrumptious
lovely bouncy merino wool.

A perfect day:
A package in the mail for me. and it's
Real Wool. Delivered. Speedy pronto in the post.

Ultimate Fuzzy cosiness

in progress:
fuzzy knitting.
this knits up so quickly,
it's the perfect thing for instant gratification.
i can't wait to be wearing it !

Merino wool sock ...

Merino wool
sock in progress. Gorgeous wool to work with.
it's bouncy, doesn't split,
works up nice and fast ! great depth of colour.
Yarn by Fleece artist,
ordered over the phone ever so recently
from the lovely Gisele at Wool n' Things .

What Love Quote suits You ? ?

Your Love Quote

Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.

and, a big thanks to the
Habsgirl blog for finding this fun "quiz" for the blog !

Yesterday, i received a Newsletter, "needle news" in the mail
from the Needle Emporium yesterday.
don't you just love getting anything knitting related in the mail ?
i sure do.

The Needle Emporium is a fabulous
and big yarn store in Ontario.
Ok, i've never actually been there.
but i can vouch for the fact that
they have GREAT service: in person,
over the phone & on the internet, so
if you're not physically in
Ancaster Ontario, it's not a problem.

and yes.
i did get bitten by temptation.
i made the phone call this morning.

this will be cozy

hello to the
Fleece artist green wool and mohair.

destined to be knit together for Canadian winter-wear.
i made my test swatch on 5mm needles. yum. this will knit up quickly.

and now, for viewing pleasure: (drum roll please)

finished gift !
the hand dyed wool socks !

these still need to be gift wrapped
before they can go out in the mail.
i've washed them once, and they're adorably soft.
i hope they get worn often.

for all signs, for this new week...

GEORGIA NICOLS November 27, 2005

All Signs (Eastern Time Zone)

We have a lovely transit right now!
Jupiter is 1300 times the size of
Earth. Its large size represents abundance, generosity, wealth and
increase. Uranus rules electricity, explosions, earthquakes, technology
and the unexpected.
Right now, these two planets are doing lunch.
It's very cozy.
The service is great and the menu is wonderful.
This means many welcome surprises will come
to each of us in a different way.
Admittedly, too much of a good thing is sometimes too much!
Some will go overboard
with excessive drinking, eating, partying,
spending and finally deciding
to 'tell it like it is'. Oy! (It's hard to keep
your shirt on when you're
getting something off your chest.)

Big Wool Ball

here's the start of my second fleece artist Merino sock.
well, it's in the background.
what i really want to show you is the size of the wool ball that's waiting to be knit. i think i'll have a good amount left over at the end of sock number two.

the lovely socks-for-Christmas are complete & ready to send off in the mail.
oh wait. i have to get them wrapped first as presents.

Oh. Yes.

fabulous quote

and, it's sunday already.
i have photos to share later on.

in the meantime, i've a lovely quote to share with you.
i think this is so absolutely perfect.

Blessed are they who see beautiful things
in humble places where other people see nothing.
(Camille Pissarro)
