peony progression.

A little peony progress report.
My friend Linda
asked specifically to see what was up.
Above, you can see a multitude of blossoms.
behind the peony bush you can enjoy the gardening
skills of my lovely neighbour.

Another garden update with the Companion

these lovely roses, as seen above,
are in our garden thanks to my
neighbour with a very green thumb.

The Knitting Companion
enjoys a few moments rest
from helping me work.

Some of the peonies
are still waiting to open.
You can click on any of these
images to see a larger view.
If you were to click on This
particular image (above), you would see
an awful lot of very busy ants
who are eating the coverings of
the peonies.

My Family and other animals
by Gerard Durrell
is one of my all time favourite books.

mid June ....

"I don't dig beneath the surface for things that don't

appear before my own eyes."
(John Singer Sargent, 1856-1925)

The knitting companion has been a very
busy guy, helping me out with work this week.
We took a few moments today to take some
photos of the garden. They'll be along in due
order.

two quotes to share

"In the fields of observation
chance favours the prepared mind."
(Louis Pasteur)

"Observation and reasoning lead to truth."
(Alexis Carrel)

monday in June

The Knitting Companion has been a stellar
helper with my many deadlines.
We finished off an application for
an exhibition today. Together, we took it to the
post office. He loves having a job to do.

For everyone who is experiencing high temperatures:
be sure to eat your chocolate. You wouldn't want it
melting at home. This also means you need to buy
it and eat it, without keeping a stash.

"Take care to get what you like
or you will be forced to like what you get."
(George Bernard Shaw)
