It's cold but no snow

More Christmas cards
arrived in the mail today.
I love getting cards in the mail.
Also, the Mary Maxim
catalogue.
this used to be for knitting & crochet supplies
(they even have bamboo needles)
but now they've ... branched out.
i was very surprised to see
some totally un-linked to any
needle craft items in their newest catalogue.
Still, it's not a bill.
Nobody likes getting bills in the mail.

On the domestic front:
No pudding has been
created on the stove yet.

(pudding mix or home made).
Hopefully this weekend
will put an end to that trend.
Now to some domestic-Goddess
activities. Laundry.

The SOFA cup

While i was at SOFA Chicago last month,
i received this great big mug.
it was full of chocolates and cookies
at the time. Very appropriate for
the occasion.

Now that i'm home, i use it for
more conventional practices.
It's a great (and huge) cup for
while you work
because it holds copious amounts.

You may know that i
love to drink from hand made vessels.
but this cup has sentimental value,
so it gets to break the rules.

A little Silk will do

I've decided to use
Sari Silk
to tie Christmas packages instead of
regular ribbons.
I thought it looked rather festive.
Hope the recipients think so too.

It's that time ....

Darn.
OH. Darn ! !

Last night,
due to Cooking,
(see yesterday's post)
i forgot all about the Knit meet.
Darn!
but at least i ate well (eventually.)

Today, the Studio
is having a day off.

Drumroll please ....

Yes, a drumroll
or a jellyroll cake. Mmm.

There is
a bit of knit news to catch up on .

There has been some Knitting
and Blocking:

and some lovely new Fleece artist
wool has arrived.
Delicious warm chocolate brown.
it's wonderful.

They will be All Mine

Did you feel the earth move ?

If you felt
the earth shake late this afternoon ...
it was my fault.

I've been cooking.
And it's been a very long time
in the coming.

Good news: it smells great.
i think it will taste terrific.
Tomorrow: it will be even better.

And there is a new bag of
cookies in the house.
The sort of cookies
that appeal to the Knitting Companion.

It's a good day. Everyone wins.
Knit news to follow, i have to get
back to the kitchen now.

Wednesday, tick tick tick...

A very big
Thank you to everyone
who has sent on their good
wishes for my
Bronchitis recovery.
What a slow road this is!

I'm feeling much better now.
and bit by bit
(extremely slowly I may add)
things are getting done.
Only yesterday i wrapped
my first Christmas present.
And no i'm not finished.

and it was long
overdue:
i went grocery shopping.

Yes, this means that i've finally
met my deadline for getting
work done, signed sealed & delivered.
(oooh, just remembered some
paperwork that i .... forgot. Oops.
very big oops).

I digress.
Grocery shopping
found me in memory lane.

I came home with this:

yes, really. Graham Crackers.

and this:

Pudding mix
that you cook on the stove.
Mmmm.

So Surreal

In only a few weeks,
it will be
time for The Big Show.
Which show ?

PalmBeach3, in
West Palm Beach, Florida.
My work will be there,
represented by
Galerie CREA
(Galerie des Métiers d'Art du Québec).

I won't be travelling to the show.
the whole event is feeling rather
surreal to me. My work is going
to a whole new kind of venue &
i won't be seeing any of it with my own eyes.
Hmm: i need a bracelet-cam or
some sort of invisible Gizmo.
