lush august

The Knitting Companion and i have been
enjoying the
summery garden views.
The yellow flowers
you see in the (above) photo
to the right are taller
than i am.

and here, below,
is some
lovely silk i've been knitting up.

Eventually, this will be a hat.

In spite of my careful
swatch-making,
and mathematics,
(checked & double checked)
my attempt did not work out as planned.

so i've Un-knit the hat. *sigh*

It was 17 cm of knitting (as seen below)

and it was by far, Too Big for my head.

So, i've started again. I'll take
a photo of the new endeavour when
it looks different than the
floppy knitting you see here.

Received a new box of tea last
week, one
that i'd never tried before.
It's lovely.

Just love the colour of the silk you are knitting with.
Best wishes

hi nadine!! i asked the local garden lady what the name of the pom-pom flowers is: for the record, it's 'coreopsis' (or choreopsis?) -- of the same family as the jerusalem artichoke, i believe. (this year, sadly, mine have been munched by some nasty caterpillars and/or earwigs...)
