It is always nice to
have flowers in the kitchen.
here's what i am enjoying this week.

Time for eggs ?

yes, delightful little
paper-wrapped eggs from Italy.
Purchased from the little Italian
shop around the corner from home.
Best surprise: they are chocolate.
Delicious, fine-quality chocolate.
The kind that's worth hiding: for yourself.

Ode to my friend Olive

Ode to Olive

Olive and I met quite a long time ago.
We were "across the hall neighbours".
We lived in an older, small size
apartment building. Everyone had a tiny
little door/cupboard beside their front door.
Long ago, this was used by the milkman
for deliveries.

Olive and i used to leave each
other surprises in the milk boxes.
Many a night, after one of
her "lady parties" or

committee meetings, a little note would be slipped
under my door to alert me to a special something
waiting in my milk box.

I liked to surprise her by decorating her
milk box as well as her front door from
time to time. She was a good sport and
seemed to enjoy the change of scene.

Olive had a big love for animals.
She was the sort of lady
who has a "lady like" apartment.
Olive loved cottage holidays in the summers.

Olive was a marvellous friend.
Kind and generous.
Warm and loving and very brave.

I miss her
very much.
