The rites of spring

Since it's officially Spring time,
i thought i'd bring in
a new flower to the kitchen.
the camera is having its battery
recharged right now, so i can't share
any visuals with you.

I bought a tiny pot of daffodils.
They will become
recognizable as
daffodils very soon.
Yesterday, when i brought this
collection of Flowers-to-be,
they were 3cm tall green shoots in a pot.
Today, i can honestly tell you that they're already
taller.

There is still snow at the front and the back
of my house.
It will be there until we're well
into April. It was definitely time
to bring in the daffodils.

Chaos and order

"Chaos is the law of nature;
order is the dream of man."
(Henry Brooks Adams)

made me say Mmmmmm.

This is the loveliest silk yarn

in a lovely, mossy shade of green.
this marvellous confection
of yarn was my birthday gift.
I started to use it last night - and it is
marvellous to work with.
I'm going to make something very
simple with it.
