bye, bye July

Hello Place Ville Marie.
Everyone that comes to Montreal,
should say hello

to our iconic edifice.
Place Ville Marie was designed
by I.M. Pei. Learn more
here at this site.

a few extra images of PVM
to amuse you, at this site.

How does this happen so
quickly? it's already the end of July.
a few images to share with you,
to wrap up the week
and the Month.
Let's start in my own neighbourhood.

To show scale, i took these two photos of a
bean plant growing in my neighbourhood.
You can see the parking restriction signs
and the speed (in km) limit sign. . .
and a very happy bean plant growing up to the sky.
I think this is fabulously fun.
It makes me think of Jack and the Beanstalk.

but ... of course.

Here is a lovely sculpture
and bright garden
that the Knitting Companion and i enjoy.

and, for this month,
one last look at vieux port, Montreal ....
this image was taken at Place Cartier.
it was a Very Bright and hot day.

welcome to Montreal

Some special friends were
here over the weekend to
visit my city for their first time.
Hopefully, this will be their first of many
trips to Montreal. I am
happy to say that they held up
well in the heat of July.

today, i share
some city touring for you,
taken on a bright, sunny and hot afternoon . . .

Here are some views of the downtown,
including Montreal's
beloved "mountain" as seen
from "the old city" of Montreal.

time well spent

my friend Gill and her entourage
shared a short time seeing the sights
of Montreal with me
this weekend.

enjoy a few views of Montreal's "old city",
Vieux port,

on a sultry afternoon ...

not true, but all the same so nice to hear

i've already tried the "i write like ..."
generator.
last night i read Gill's most recent
posting and i was encouraged to try again.

i was quite surprised to learn my result.
and needless to say, extremely flattered.
it's not true, but like having a "wonderful"
fortune cookie, it's always nice to hear good news.

it's a lovely Sunday

it's a wonderful Sunday
here in Montreal.
The high heat is
giving us some relief and
we are enjoying a comfortable
and pretty summer day.

The Knitting Companion and i enjoyed a
little stroll this afternoon.

it's so nice
to walk outside and not
feel like we're Melting.

you know you want to see him, too
