magically snowy

... more snowy views
of Montreal in February.

The snowy view this week,
from our balcony. I love
seeing it all covered in snow.

Here's a snowy view of a
Canadian Mailbox.
My favourite way, still,
to send greetings.

Our neighbour
always has something
special to decorate her front porch.
This month, for Valentine's day,
she has a special Valentine Curtain in
her door!
and, the Moose, seated
upon the terra cotta flower pots,
are adorned with lovely
fuschia coloured glass ornaments.

I love to walk by her house
and see what she has to amuse us.

oooh . . . shiny

Hand-blown
glass adds such whimsy and
grace to a space.
Especially to a space over your head.
I love these creations of light.

winter time

a Montreal winter
is a time to bundle up.
a special time
for snow boots, special coats,
mittens hats and scarves. You want
to be bundled up to protect yourself
from the cold.
Winter is a time for extra special sunny
days and magical swirly, snowy days.

For special winter-time tools as well.

Winter time is also an excellent
time to stay in and make
biscuits, soups, cookies and fudge.
But we'll get into that topic another time.

ode to linen, short version

i've just read the Valentine to Linen,
at the Maxon-Dixon blog.

i too have
big feelings for Linen and

Linen things.
this year i hope to accomplish

some things using linen ....

i've just received
some of Rowan's Linen blend,
"lenpur" ...
I haven't swatched it just yet.
It's a lot softer than i was expecting.
It certainly won't become a kitchen curtain,
but no doubt it will
start to take shape in the spring.
